Welcome to the 2012 5th Annual Internet Safety Awards presented by the Hawaii State Department of Education, Oceanic Time Warner, KGMB9, CyberW0rx.8o8 / Aikea808,True Digital/Hawaii PI, Torch Entertainment, Maintec Inc., Microsoft, Bank Of Hawaii, along with other generous sponsors.

The 2012 Internet Safety Awards was a rousing success at the Farrington High School auditorium. Well attended by a cross section of the community, the program included video messages from many dignataries around the state..United States Attorney from the District of Hawaii, Florence Nakakuni, Hawaii Department of Education, Assistant Superintendent David Wu,The City and County of Honolulu, Mayor Peter Carlisle, United States Representative, Congresswoman Mazie Hirono, Mayor of the County of Maui, Mayor Alan Arakawa,Chief of Police for the City & County of Honolulu Chief Louis M. Kealoha who also read a Proclamation from Mayor Carlisle honoring the Internet Safety Awards.

The evening started off with an inspirational Hawaiian Blessing from Kamana’opono Aweau-Agres.

There was terrific entertainment from Kaulana the Magician, Frank Delima, Tony Silva from Da Braddas, the Studio 808Dance Project and DJ Cool E from 102.7 Da Bomb but the highlight of the evening were the fabulous videos produced by the students of Hawaii.

Kapolei and Waianae High Schools were among the top winners in this years 5th Annual Internet Safety Awards. More than 150
students from 14 schools statewide submitted 52 PSA's. The results of this year's contest are below.
