Welcome to the 2012 The Internet Safety Awards presented by Infragard Hawaii, the FBI, The Hawaii State Department of Education and our generous corporate business partners.

Congratulations on considering the Internet Safety Awards Contest! The Internet Safety Awards, also known as the ISAs, gives students the opportunity to create and produce their own public service announcement on Internet safety issues. The contest is open to students attending grades 4 through 12 at a public, private or charter schools within the state of Hawai‘i.

The video categories in which students can compete are as follows:

·       Cyber-bullying

·       On-line Piracy & Plagiarism

·       Social Networking Safety

Students can work individually or in teams to produce an original 25-second public service announcement for this competition. Assistance from a professional production company is not permitted.

Important Dates

·       March 1, 2012: All entries must be received by 4:30 p.m. No late entries will be accepted.

·       April 2012: All finalists will be contacted. 

·       May 11, 2012: The Awards Gala at Farrington High School Auditorium .

If a student is on multiple teams, he or she must submit a form for each entry. In other words, a student will need to complete this form five times if they are on five different entry teams.

A complete entry packet will contain the following:

1.     The video on a CD or DVD

2.     Signed Authorization and Release Forms for each student; only one complete form is needed. One authorization form will cover all video entries, even if the student is in multiple different entries.

3.     Signed Image and Release Forms for each person who is recognizable in the pubic service announcement video; only one complete form is needed. One authorization form will cover all video entries, even if the person appears in multiple different entries

4.     Copies of any necessary releases or licenses required for using third-party content. It is the entrant's responsibility to ensure that all the necessary forms and releases are completed
